Video shows Florida police sergeant grabbing fellow officer by her throat
I bet he blames her for the trouble he’s in.
He should be charged with battery of a law enforcement officer, fired and if convicted jailed.
Is there any other job in the world where you could do this to a co-worker and not get fired immediately?
Probably not the first women he has grabbed like that.
It’s absolute bullshit that officers don’t immediately get stripped of their protections and arrested when they do this shit.
>“I am very proud of the officer involved in this incident and believe that the actions taken were definitive and demonstrative of good leadership during a tense situation,” Rosa said.
Good for the female officer for pulling the sergeant away from the suspect and trying to de-escalate the situation. Absolutely great leadership.
Now they’re doing this stuff to their own.
Hopefully this roid monkey is single with no kids. If this is what he’s comfortable doing while on film and in the presence of at least 2 other officers I shudder to think what he does when he’s at home.
Imagine what he does when he’s not at work/on body cam
Holy shit Boys we got ourselves a fucking unicorn!!! Good on her, takes a lot of guts in that profession to call anyone on their bullshit.
Edit: there to their.
That dude shouldn’t be a cop…
To be fair, he thought it was his wife.
Fucking thug. He should be fired and charged with battery.
Can you imagine assaulting your coworker and not being immediately fired?
It’s very telling that they removed the audio from the clip.
Desantis is actively recruiting police officers who have been fired around the country.
This is not going to bode well for Floridians or the native police who are already with the force.
I’m sure she will be fired in due time
“relieved the sergeant of his supervisory responsibilities”
I can’t think of another profession where you could do this to a coworker and not be immediately terminated outright
Sounds like the female officer was trying to be a ‘good cop’ and de-escalate a situation this sergeant was trying to escalate with the arrestee, and she got treated like most ‘good cops’ do: attacked by fellow police.
> Rosa said the officer who pulled the sergeant was following the department’s policies and procedures that call for intervention when there’s “imminent fear of engagements escalating unnecessarily.”
> The police chief said he immediately relieved the sergeant of his supervisory responsibilities after hearing about the incident and ordered an internal affairs investigation that is ongoing.
The “good apples” aren’t much good if the “bad apples” don’t automatically get fired when found out.
Tell us you’re a domestic abuser without telling us you’re a domestic abuser.
If you watch the video, the other police just stand there as the sergeant grabs the female officer by the throat.
The reporter makes a good point that if a member of the public had grabbed a police officer by the throat that person would be in jail. The sergeant is still at work but at a desk job.
For some weird reason I couldn’t get the video to work but here’s another link
If he’s willing to choke you, he’s willing to kill you.
For everyone’s safety, he needs to lose his badge.
Big tough guys always act bold when it’s a woman. A woman ON YOUR OWN TEAM. Asshole supreme. Fire his ass, but most likely he’ll get “anger management”. You can never “control” an out-of-control bully. 😳
Holy shit, choking is a big deal. It’s the number one predictor of intimate partner homicide–if you are choked even once by your partner you are 7x more likely to be killed by them. Not sure what the stats are for choking your coworker but they’re probably not good either.
The incident happened on Nov 19, 2021. Why the fuck is this just coming to light? That violent thug should be relieved of his duties immediately. The only job he is fit for is mopping the floor as a janitor.
He didn’t lose his job – he was relieved of supervisory duties. What a fucking joke
This was in Nov what’s the status?
The US needs much higher minimum entry standards for law enforcement positions.
Before body cams he would have gas lighted her told her never happened
I don’t think I’ve ever had a job where I could choke a colleague in front of everyone and not be both immediately fired and have charges pressed against me. This guy keeps his job and seemingly doesn’t get charged.
How can you assault a police officer while surrounded by other police officers and not be in jail. It really is rotten all the way through.
This officer was fired for stopping another officer from choking someone to death.
I guess he mistook her for his wife.
Stripped of his supervisor role??? This is why no one trusts cop unions.
The fuck is this? Name a single job union or otherwise where you can literally grab a coworker by the neck on video and not be immediately fired with charged pending assuming the victim wants to testify.
I doubt even sports celebrities can get away with it. Although their suspension would be limited after some mandatory training because millions of dollars.
How is it this hard fire cops. It doesn’t matter the circumstances. This isn’t a crazy person, or a choke while arresting someone. It’s a fucking coworker.
Its inside the thin blue line. Does the police union only protect assholes? How are they protecting the victim by not firing him.
Watch his buddies start harassing her.
Boot lickers are so confused right now
Someone has roid rage. There should be ZERO tolerance for acts of aggression from any LEO. There is no trust in the police anymore because these kind of assholes are never held accountable.
She was literally protecting him from himself and he was too fucking roided up to realize it. Her: “HEY! DON’T DO THE POLICE VIOLENCE!”
Him: “FUCK YOU!” *Does the police violence on the police*
She’s fucked though. He’s the kind of shit that floats rises to the top of police precincts and I can only imagine what kind of jail house horseshit intimidation she’s going through right now.
I won’t be surprised if we don’t see some kind of civil war inside precincts over the next few years. The system is starting to unravel and there’s too many eyes on them to hide it.
The police union will protect their own.
Oh no, critical system error. System has shutdown to prevent damage
So felony assault then, no? Good luck getting a job with that on your record.
Tatt’ed up violent thug with a gun. Get these dangerous pricks out of our fucking uniforms!
If he was that abusive to one of his fellow officers, imagine how abusive he was towards suspects or significant other/family. Every arrest in his file should be investigated now.
>Rosa said the officer who pulled the sergeant was following the department’s policies and procedures that call for intervention when there’s “imminent fear of engagements escalating unnecessarily.”
Yes, please, we need more officers like her. The sergeant should be fired, and this lady promoted.
“How DARE you stop me from escalating this incident so I could brutalize this felon!!!”
Explains quite a bit about the wall of silence. Do the right thing and you will get choked out on video.
Surely an instance of aggression towards one of their own will result in some form of punishment…right??
Bet his wife runs into a lot of “doors” at home.
