This plant is not dead! I’ve had it for years and it has neither died nor grown. The “branches” are not particularly woody or stiff, at least not as much as they look. What is it?!

So how do you know it’s not dead if it doesn’t grow at all?

It’s waiting to be set free in a western movie.

It looks like a dead Leucophyta brownii to me. (I don’t know the English name because I’m not from an English speaking country)

How do you know it’s not dead? You sound extremely sure.

Have you tried blowing at it? It might disintegrate into dust.

It’s dead. It’s been dead for years.

What exactly makes you think it’s alive? It’s not green, it doesn’t grow.

It’s dead. Just because it’s still there doesn’t mean it’s alive.
