Right now there is a plasma “tree” in the sun’s atmosphere. My best guess it is around 80,000 miles tall, about the diameter of Jupiter. This picture was taken from my backyard a few minutes ago. [OC]

    [DON’T POINT A TELESCOPE AT THE SUN](https://twitter.com/AJamesMcCarthy/status/1480982748361752580?s=20)

So I pointed my telescope on the solar right now and obtained this pic- it is a very specifically tuned telescope, designed to reject the solar’s warmth whereas letting in a exact sort of sunshine in to disclose the photo voltaic environment. This is the photo voltaic chromosphere, and the tall “tree” is a prominence, photo voltaic materials caught in a magnetic area and pulled from the floor. If my situations have been higher (fairly hazy right now) I may seize these buildings “raining” moon-sized gobs of plasma onto the photo voltaic floor.

I noticed one on 1/12/2022, from a SUVI picture. It was big. Great shot. Looks just like what I noticed.
