[Schwartz] The guy who picks all the bad lineman and took Tua over Herbert gets to keep his job?
It really is impressive how many 1st/2nd round picks they spent recently on OL and how bad the OL still is.
R E L A T I O N S H I P S
As a Patriots fan it is quite beautiful to see the divide drafting Tua has caused in the Dolphins organization and among their fanbase.
Bruh what does picking Tua over Herbert have to do with it. Stop this revisionist shit. Tua was always getting picked before Herbert
honestly they did flores a favor if he really wasnt a believer in tua
Tua over Herbert was consensus no?
Just so we can fire him next year to bring in a new GM who will want to hire his own HC
Yeah but it’d be racist to fire Grier.
He’s been with the team forever too, and there dipshit owner keeps letting him build bad teams
I’m not gonna pretend like I wasn’t saying Tua > Herbert predraft as well but yeah it’s not a good look to keep Grier and not Flores.
If they took Herbert over Tua their fans would have rioted lol. That’s so revisionist.
Kicked Flores into the void like a Yoshi
Everyone would have picked Tua over Herbert at that time. Even the Chargers would have picked Tua.
Hey that’s not fair, don’t forget that Ighaboogaloo guy too.
Oh, he sucks too.
I’m betting Grier wants Watson and Flores wasn’t having it.
It’s more than that tho. It’s the coaches that came and went, FA decisions, staff decisions. Flores had a lot of say but the question is who had the most say that effected the team? If they were gonna fire one, they should have fired both but clearly Ross knows who said/did what.
lol I see he’s transitioning to a horrible hot take artist.
Round and round, the cycle goes. When will they win? No one knows….
What a joke, they couldn’t wait to get rid of Saban too lol.
Chris Grier has been the Dolphins National scout/assistant director of college scouting (2003-07), Director of college scouting (2007-15) and GM since 2016. Since 2003 the Dolphins have finished with a winning record only 6 times in 19 seasons and only made the playoffs twice. How does this man still have a role in the organization with such a big hand in drafting their players over the last 19 years?
In the same way certain teams always seem to draft/develop certain positions well (Steelers’ WRs; Patriots OL), some organizations just cannot figure out certain positions. Miami is among the most glaring when it comes to OL.
Hindsight is 20/20. Tua was the right choice at the time.
It’s not even captain hindsight to say Austin Jackson and Noah I were back picks at the time. Austin Jackson was a second round massive project tackle lacking the upside of an Isaiah Wilson while Noah I was a pick that came out of left field.
The Tua over Hebert stuff anybody would’ve done in there position on draft day though.
Okay, let’s not pretend everyone was very high on Herbert come draft day.
This sub always does this nonsense. Tua was picked at 5 and Herbert at 7. Same thing with Mahomes. Dude was a top 10 pick. It’s not revisionist history to say that the team should have evaluated better. It’s not like Chargers plucked Herbert in the 5th round.
And he paid Will Fuller 10mil. People forget.
That’s not how it works. For all we know Tua on the Chargers win the Super Bowl and Herbert on Miami sucks ass. You can’t just take a player and assume everything happens the same way if he goes to a completely different team.
Put me out of my misery, plz
Psst, they kept the wrong guy.
Show me a guy who would have taken Herbert over Tua at the time….I’ll wait.
I’m just curious as to when good college football players become bad? They don’t forget how to play. When there are undrafted players that can excel, I have to think a lot of these have to be on the coaches. Yes, some players never make the adjustment to the pros, but I feel like all these guys are talented and capable football players and they get labeled as “bad” without any context to their situation. Really hate how guys like this guy talk about football. A true lack of nuance.
