[Schefter] Former Dolphins’ HC Brian Flores now is expected to be a prime candidate to get head coaching consideration elsewhere during this next hiring cycle, per sources.
If he goes to NYG he could bring Tua along.
Hello. We have a vacancy.
Quite a harsh firing
Well no shit, he’s a great coach.
I mean yeah, no shit Schefty…
Come on up to Chicago
Does this conclusion really need sources?
The one defensive minded coach I’d be interested in.
If the Jags can’t get Leftwich, I feel like he could be a solid mentor for Lawrence.
I didn’t see this coming. How do Dolphins fans take this news?
Hey Denver, want a new head coach who is defensive minded? We know you love those types…
Stay out of the NFCN please and thank you
Vikings might go after him
You know who could use a really good coach? The Dolphins
He’s a good coach. I don’t think he’ll be on the market long.
He should have never been fired wherever he goes he will have better ownership support
As he should. Best coach we’ve had in 20 years and we let him go after two winning seasons, granted with 0 playoff appearances. Could see him going to one of the NFC North teams.
He should go to the Dolphins. We could use a HC rn
Flores to Jax
What a ridiculous decision unless there’s someone better lined up.
Water is wet
This is definitely the worst firing I’ve seen in a long time. At least, based initial gut feeling. He got the most of that team, and it’s a roster that definitely doesn’t scream “playoffs” looking at it. To be good enough to make the playoffs and just getting unlucky twice in a row is just a fluke.
Dolphins shouldn’t have let him go. They weren’t ever a serious contender talentwise and Flores had them perform way better when they were tanking than they had any right to be and it set up a false expectation. He had two winking seasons where his team looked strongest at the end. You can build around that.
Some other team will get him and have pieces and make the Dolphins look stupid
I would hire Flores if I was looking for a coach
Hello, yes we have a vacancy if you’re interested.
I said it when they were In their rough patch and I’ll say it now: Firing Flores is a dumb move.
I was surprised to hear of Flores being fired. I’m sure he’ll get another shot right away.
If he doesn’t get a head coach job the Eagles should call him up
Yes, yes please
Hi Flores, Denver wants you
He should, that Dolphins roster was complete ass and uncompetitive when he took over. He made them competitive that first season with a team that people expected to go winless.
He is a really really good coach.
You don’t do what the Dolphins did with coming back from 1-7 to a near playoff spot without buying in to your coach. They had nothing to play for yesterday and yet they played great in a win against the Pats. Flores had his shortcomings but nothing compared to all the other issues. This was something for us to build upon and instead we’re breaking it all down
Dolphins firing Flores but keeping their GM is all you need to know about how impatient, stubborn, and delusional our ownership is.
Welcome to Jacksonville
Please Tepper fire Rhule and hire this man immediately
He should just go back to being the defensive coordinator at New England and ruin the Dolphins lives for the next 10 years.
He’s a Belichick guy. He’ll be Giants HC before Friday.
Fired a decent coach at the NFL level to replace him with someone even worst. I’ll never understand the logic.
Coach who led shit team to not be shitty and was fired by team notorious for making bad decisions is a top candidate for other shitty teams.
This sounded snappier in my head.
No shit. Fins are dumb as fuck for firing him. God dammit
I feel like you need a home run at OC for this to work, and I’m not sure Flores can bring that hire, but he does deserve a shot somewhere.
