Ruining a $50k truck to launch a $2k boat
These are the people that make the lineup at the boat ramp. On any given Saturday you can always find an idiot at the boat ramp.
If that’s an F-150 Platinum it’s way more than $50K haha
All I see is a 50k boat and a 2k boat
I was sitting on the patio of a restaurant overlooking a boat ramp, a long time ago, when a guy pulled up in a brand news Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition and a brand new big ass cabin cruiser boat. Boat and trailer were painted to match the Expedition and the trailer had the same aftermarket wheels as the Expedition on all 3 axles. One of the most expensive combinations I have ever seen.
After 20 minutes of trying to get down the ramp, with his wife yelling “left”, “right”, and “straighten up and try again” they gave up and left.
My only thought the entire time was that he could have skipped the aftermarket wheels on the trailer and used that money to pay for lessons on how to back up a trailer.
This is why I always install truck nuts. You feel the change in temp immediately.
Damn I wanted to see that Jeep come in to the rescue
I wonder if they were expecting the car to just drive on water
Genuinely asking, how does this happen so often?
I live in a touristy area and one of the favorite activities for locals is to go down and watch the tourists try to launch their boats. We have made it as easy as possible, with a giant parking lot and a giant ramp without much of a slope.
I’ve seen them refuse help, jackknife the boat, and keep going backwards so that they damaged their car.
One of the most amusing was a person that had driven the past 50 miles with a flat tire on their trailer.
“I used the trailer back assist. I don’t know why it didn’t stop me”
Did they not think to move the boat closer to the ramp?
Usually, this sub is more like assholes in cars. In this case, it really is idiots in cars.
Hello, insurance company? I need all the other policy holders to cover my loss..
Surely you could release the damn thing as soon as the back is like touching the water? What made that guy think he needs to submerge the car as well lol
You’ll get that on these big jobs
I’m sure they’ll want to know why the entire electrical system of the truck going out isn’t covered under warranty.
Source: I work in a Ford service department and have seen some shit.
Jeep was inbound for the rescue
Where can I buy a boat like that for 2k?
Put it in 4wheel drive. It floats better that way
Put it in four wheel drive! They say, as the air intake floods with salt water
So like, how deep into the water did this person think they needed to drive before the boat was good to launch?
R for River
I’m glad I don’t get a boner for boats.
Couldn’t afford truck payments anymore, purchased the cheapest boat he could find on Craigslist, oops can’t find 4wd button.
What kind of dollars are those?
I think he may need a tow.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 gonna pay the stupid tax today
But it’s a Ford, so there’s that.
Get him a paddle!
Would car insurance cover this?
I live in South Florida and there is an Instagram account called OnlyInDade that posts different submitted videos from Dade County. Every day there is; a car on fire, a car flipped over and a car or truck that is floating in the water after messing up on a boat ramp.
“Put it in 4 wheel”
“It is in 4 wheel”
Might have something to do with the back tires floating and the front tires slipping. If the tailgate was dropped he MIGHT have been able to pull out. Then again those ramps get covered in algae.
from off road to off shore
There’s always a Jeep to the rescue
1 word: saltlife
Well that’s one pickup truck that won’t be driving four centimeters from my rear bumper with LED lights on. Can’t say I feel bad for the guy.
If that is salt water, every electrical device and wire will be nothing but green mush in a few weeks. And forget about using the brakes, the brake lines will be rusted out.
Miami Boat Ramps!
PLOT TWIST: He wanted a new truck (;
Soooo many questions
Tbh though the truck should be fine
Some people just don’t deserve nice things…
Oh boy. God have mercy on the dealership. He’s going to take it in with every warning light lit up, 10-12 pages of U codes, and demand it all be fixed under warranty.
That is a Truck Boat Truck if I ever did see one.
I wanna see the Geico Gecko show up and just start screaming on the dock “What the *fuck!?!” in that British accent
