  1. >Florida state Sen. Jason Pizzo (D) on Thursday sued the Republican governor and other state officials, alleging their actions as part of the scheme broke state law. He aims to ban DeSantis from continuing to transfer migrants.
    >
    >Pizzo said DeSantis used state funds to help pay for the transportation costs of flying two planes carrying about 50 migrants to Massachusetts.
    >
    >While there is a provision in the state budget allocating $12 million to “a program to facilitate the transport of unauthorized aliens from this state consistent with federal law,” in this case, the migrants were not in Florida to begin with.

DeSantis’ crew had to go out of State and find migrants legally pursuing asylum to pull his stunt. He should be sued for wasting taxpayer dollars at the very least, even without it be a ridiculous, sophomoric and cruel publicity grab.

  2. It’s interesting that the Florida gov is so afraid of immigrants that he has to fly immigrants from other states, implying there is no immigration problem in Florida.

  3. Not only did he break the law, he broke the law that HE SIGNED INTO LAW. An absolutely new way for republicans to ignore laws…..

  4. Floridians are currently dealing with a rent crisis, insurance crisis, and teaching shortage crisis…thanks Ron for focusing on us.

  5. He’s suing the Florida tax payers. DeSantis will wear this lawsuit like a badge of honor.

Number of lawsuits that have shamed conservatives to date = 0

  6. You know, I’m beginning to think that these asswipes are doing this stuff so they can get sued and use the lawsuit as a way to drain donations out of the losers who support them.

  7. Somehow in all this, I missed the fact that the migrants DeSantis had transported to Martha’s Vineyard came from Texas. Only found that part out yesterday.

And I gotta say, I just don’t get it. Republicans are constantly pulling stunts that force their voters into a series of mental gymnastics to rationalize. And it seems like every time they pull it off, Republicans find ways to push that envelope further. I mean, how are Florida taxpayers possibly rationalizing this to themselves? Their money spent as a “solution” to *another state’s* immigration “problem?”

It doesn’t make sense to me.

  8. For all the **crying** the **right** does about government spending, they sure like wasting money on stupid shit.

  9. So he overpaid A LOT of taxpayer money to the guy that donates money to HIM. so like money laundering…?
    Edit
1.56 mil on a no bid government contract to his friend, who doesn’t usually do this type of work.

  10. I haven’t seen any Conservatives defending this stunt in the past couple of days. That’s how badly it was received.

  11. I was at a social gathering and people there were.saying how great DeSantis was for doing this and how it exspoded the hypocrisy of the liberals.

I just sat there and silently stared at the wall. I was at a committee meeting for an organization that promotes charity…

  12. Just think of all the positive things that wasted money could have done in broken Florida. Yet, DeSantis liberally spends on his vanity projects.

  13. DeSatan is nothing more than an evil troll. He is the worst of human waste and disappointment shoved into a sausage skin with a hole to talk out of. The possibility that he could run for president in 2024 is truly frightening.

  14. The party who rants about the constitutional protections for guns and free speech are completely mute when it comes to cruel and unusual punishment. This is the new notsee party.

  15. I look forward to DeSantis’ spirited defense of free, socialized, taxpayer paid transportation for illegal aliens only.

  16. Glad it happened, do not expect anything to come of it. Republicans expect this behavior and punish those that do not comply.

  17. >“Senator Pizzo never misses an opportunity for his 15 minutes of fame and is challenging an action on an appropriation he voted for,” Taryn Fenske, a spokesperson for DeSantis, told CNN Thursday.

lol what a weak ass come back. Notice they didn’t deny that what DeSantis did was legit.

  18. Desantis followed the law…except for the part of it being unauthorized immigrants. Oh, and the in the state of Florida part.
