  1. > two students inside the school dialed 911 multiple times during the shooting and begged authorities for help. The calls began at 12:03 p.m. and lasted through most of the hour.

    > At 12:47 p.m., one of the students called a 911 operator and said “please send the police now.”

My opinion of these cops can’t get much worse.

  2. 44% of this small town’s annual budget goes to the police. A town of 16,000 people has its own SWAT team. And for what?

  3. Holy crap. The next story is just going to be that they were aiding the shooter. What useless idiots.

  4. So federal agents… were stopped by the chief of police…of the school district?

Edit: why are they even listening to this clown who has an armed gunman in the school and his people are outside. His own officer they claimed supposedly confronted him first and were shot at. Which was wrong…that moron was CHASING A TEACHER and was late

  5. I can’t even think of the Uvalde police department as “police” anymore. I’d expect more cop-like behavior from friggin’ mall cops.

  6. This is why people say defund the police. This community paid 40 percent of their taxes directly to this department. And when they finally needed them for something serious…well you all saw what happened.

  7. >Steven McCraw, the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said Friday that Peter Arredondo, the chief of police for the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, had stopped at least 19 officers from breaking into the school as the gunman opened fire for at least an hour.

    >The BORTAC team, armed with tactical gear, at first did not move toward the gunman. After approximately 30 minutes passed, however, the federal agents opted of their own volition to lead the “stack” of officers inside the school and take down the shooter.

    >According to McCraw, Arredondo believed there was no active threat, so instead of sending officers in, he spent time finding keys that would let him into the school. During this time, however, Ramos had unencumbered access to carry out the attack. Nineteen students and two teachers were killed.

The more I learn, the angrier I get.

  8. I would bet my left testicle, that the entire Ulvade Police Department bullshitted about how “Let’s see someone try to do that in one of our schools.” after every previous shooting. Fucking cowards

  9. So the school district has a police department of 3 people, the city of Uvalde has a population of 15k and has a police department, Uvalde County has a population of 20k and has a police department, how does that even make sense on any level. It sounds like consolidating all of these into the Sheriffs office would be both more cost effective and more useful as a force.

  10. The police chief thought he had time to wait. Wouldn’t the sound of gun fire especially an AR15 tell you otherwise?? What am I missing?

  11. Let me get this straight. Not only did the “cops” not want to rush in and save innocent kids, they prevented parents from going in to the point of throwing one to the ground and almost teasing him. Then, one of LEO that actually breached the classroom was an off duty Border Patrol, with a borrowed pistol from the barber that was giving him a haircut when he received a text from his wife who was a teacher at the school? And now the cops are trying to get their story straight after the fact as to how this happened? It’s never the crime, it’s the coverup. Heads need to roll.

All of those cops need to find another career, like yesterday. This is sickening all the way around.

  12. This police chief was just elected to city council and should be sworn in on Tuesday, I wonder if that will still happen? Him and the 19 cops who stood by and listened to these kids. Being murdered need to face charges as accomplices to murder and lose their jobs and pensions.

  13. At the rate this story gets worse and worse, I’m half expecting it to be revealed by next week that the cops personally bought the guns for the shooter.

  14. Federal agents including an off duty fed who borrowed his barbers shotgun. Christ the local police were so useless

  15. 99% of the details just boggle the mind. If you had described this a week ago, you would have been laughed out of town (or tased or shot) by the thin ~~blue~~ yellow line.

  16. What i learned in the last years about America is the following.

The police there can without any issues enter the wrong house by barging doors to arrest/shoot/kill the wrong suspect, but for innocent childeren and teachers, they have to wait for a key..

    What a sick joke

  17. Cops have to be held accountable for SOMETHING. I’m not a cop hater or “fuck the pigs” type of guy but this is absolutely fucking absurd.

Some type of evil shit going down here, what’s the motive of waiting?? You’re literally hearing children being murdered and you’re just standing around and then asking the Feds to wait??? What the fuck is going on?

  18. >“From the benefit of hindsight where I’m sitting now, of course, it was not the right decision.” – Steven McCraw, Texas Department of Public Safety

No, you don’t need the benefit of hindsight to come to that conclusion. It was abundantly clear while the kids were getting pumped full of bullets for an hour.

  19. Jesus Christ every day it’s worse and worse. at this rate, by next Monday we will have news the cops shot most of the kids, actually.

  20. Thank God for the Border Patrol. They’ve scared the shit out of me the handful of times I have been in West Texas, but they took care of business while the local LE sat around with their thumbs up their butts.

  21. Could this be the catalyst for major police reform?

Police are paid fairly well, with tax payer money. They get military grade equipment. If not to be able to face off against a gunman in order to save the lives of children, than what for?
