  1. Minor point from an aspiring architecture nerd: the Chateau Laurier is built in the Chateauesque style.

    Gothic revival is an 1870ish imitation of mostly English buildings from the late Middle Ages, while Chateauesque is a 1920ish imitation of French buildings from the Renaissance. The two styles have similar features but they’re not quite the same.
