I loved this game’s story. Simple, effective, understated, and beautiful. Realizing that Genichiro isn’t a “bad” guy, but just one trying to protect the land he loves. It’s all quite nuanced and interesting to dissect.

I would kill for a sequel or spiritual successor.

  2. The crack in his voice gets me every time.

  3. Sekiro is a perfect game

  4. Wolf was able to chop his entire head off in one swing, that’s kinda metal

  5. Sekiro’s VA did a really good job in that particular scene. The inflection in his voice when he says:

    > “*May you live on, and embrace what it means to be human.*”

really sells the regret/sadness of knowing that he won’t be there to watch Kuro grow. Across all of FromSoft’s endings, this one definitely hits different.

  6. Such a beautiful game. It was a pleasure playing this game. I like all 4 endings ( even shura in its own twisted way).

  7. My favorite ending. Just beautiful.

  8. “May you find your worth in the waking world.”

  9. This is my favorite ending. I cried when I saw it, and i’m proud to admit it.

  10. I refuse to acknowledge this as the true ending because it leaves no room for a sequel lol

  11. Who died? Him or kuro

  12. All of the endings are tragic in their own way and it’s beautiful.

I love this story because the normal on the surface story is already very good no matter how you play it, but the more lore you find and the more details you connect the better it becomes.

  13. My favorite ending in all of from history. Beautiful

  14. goddamn it, this ending always makes me cry

  15. Even though he lives on, kuro disappearing during the return ending teared me up

  16. Best ending.

  17. I love the music in this ending so much

  18. Probably my favourite ending in any fromsoft game

  19. Can’t wait to finish Elden Ring to play through this again.

  20. I just finished the game 2 hours ago, never played a game on this level, now the bar is set too high

  21. hold on, does he decapitate himself?

  22. Every time I see this ending I feel heartbroken, especially at what we don’t see: Kuro eventually waking up and having to see his most loyal servant beheaded for his sake and likely having a mental breakdown.

  23. He wanted to keep on serving Kuro… and that is just so damn beautiful…

Anyway, I still think the best ending for this game to potentially have a sequel, would be the Shura one, we get Kuro, somehow, as the protagonist after years that Shura Wolf committing genocide on everyone…. who trained Kuro though, now that the plot hole right in the beginning lol.

  24. I played the game with English language and you can hear him shake with those final words very impactful moment I recommend watching it in English I almost cried

  25. You should tag as nsfw for spoilers or smth idk how Reddit works but hide this shit it’s literally the ending cutscene

  26. My favorite ending.

  27. That puts tear in my eyes every time… and goosebumps

  28. u/savevideo

  29. As sad as it is, this is my favorite ending

  30. I’m playing Elden Ring and I don’t feel the same connection to the story. I was really invested in the story In Sekiro

  31. It was as painful as the shura path. I really think journey to the west was a wise choice but as far as Miyazaki goes, he left that ending to make room for a second game. The financial ball is in the hands of Activision now, but I’m pretty sure they want to make sure the original team is in charge of it instead of the drastic change brought by DS2.

  32. Yes his voice breaking at the end is so sad and beautiful as he finally shares his last emotions

  33. Once I’ve sapped Elden Ring of it’s serotonin, I think it’ll be time to return to Sekiro. God I love this game.

  34. This is the ending that I like the most.
