  1. Im pretty sure its so its wheelchair accessible too. Parks have been getting a ton of funding to make them more accessible to those with disabilities over the last few years. Lots of the bigger parks out east have these.

  2. I went a few months ago and it’s a stunning walkway.

  3. Yeah that place got way too popular way too fast. Much needed.

    It’s a fascinating place.

Important to note that most of Vancouver use to look like this. I regularly pass 100 year old stumps in Burnaby that are the size of the large trees in this grove, although perhaps not the largest.

If you step off the walkway, you might accidentally kill an insect and change the future of humanity

Edit: not a lot of Ray Bradbury fans here I see

  6. Don’t care when the rest of the old growth in the province is being clear cut as fast as possible.

  7. Is the whole loop trail now a boardwalk?

  8. How many trees did they cut down to protect the environment. Lol

  9. I am glad they are doing this, but also sad that they are not doing anything to protect the REST of the old growth on Vancouver Island and elsewhere.

I will always remember the sadness I felt when I saw a logging truck with a tree SO BIG on it that it was the ONLY TREE IT COULD CARRY.

Have you seen a logging truck ? Now picture a tree so big around it FILLED THE BACK. I saw this on Vancouver Island in the late 90’s / early 00’s.

Then we saw the second truck with the same thing, only tapering a bit at one end. Then a THIRD truck. So now we have a tree that was as big around as the bed of a logging truck for at least 3 truck lengths tall.

    Made you sad.
