  1. RBG’s quote about when there will be enough women on SCOTUS seems related:

    >“WHEN I’M SOMETIMES ASKED ‘WHEN WILL THERE BE ENOUGH [WOMEN ON THE SUPREME COURT]?’ AND I SAY ‘WHEN THERE ARE NINE,’ PEOPLE ARE SHOCKED. BUT THERE’D BEEN NINE MEN, AND NOBODY’S EVER RAISED A QUESTION ABOUT THAT.” -RBG

  2. I know Obama being black in some ways helped and hurt his electability. But did him being Half white help in any community? All Americans I talked to just considered him black. I’m just curious didn’t mean to offend anyone. Thought this would be the right place to ask.

  3. Yeah I’m white and boy do I wish there were some more diversity in government. More likely to get someone who actually cares about making the government work better when it’s not someone from a majority. When America is this unsatisfied about Congress I just want someone to get in there and mix it up.

  4. If Biden hadn’t prefaced his nomination with “whomever we nominate it’s going to be a black woman” I don’t think even Ted Cruz would have had as much of a problem with Brown Jackson.

  5. Despite making up only 30% of the US population…

  6. Using, “Historically,” with no indication of what is the present state seems disingenuous to me.

I support confirming Judge Jackson, but I feel like there is a strawman in this tweet.

  7. Ffs. White dudes gonna see that 30 and think it makes them a minority.

  8. Not appointing one for all those years is the real racist aspect of it.

  9. When racists claim something is racist, then it’s a double negative and they cancel each other out?

  10. Yeah but he literally prefaced it as “we are only gonna nominate a black women for the job”… the brain rot that led us to picking people based on race and not qualification is very very real. He literally could’ve nominated her and said she’s the most qualified, which she prolly is, and it would’ve been fine, but instead he made it about race and here we are. This is just racism with more steps smh

  11. I was finna say try at white people make up more, but he said white *men* 😂

  12. I’d be happy to see a bipartisan effort to select a qualified person regardless of race.

  19. Only 30%? Damn

  20. Everyone is stupid including I. Never forget this.

  21. So Kamala just happens to be the best candidate in spite of the statistics, or she’s a scam and helped joe rig the election

  22. It’s because they’re nominating a black woman because she’s black and a woman to help correct that power imbalance. You can’t just correct racism and sexism. You’ve gotta just let it sort itself out organically. /s

Maybe hiring someone based exclusively on their race and gender is bad? If not then I guess MLK was wrong

  25. She wouldn’t have been the first African American women if the dems didn’t threaten a filibuster for nominating Janice rogers brown in 2003 for the us circuit of appeals for the District of Columbia in witch she most definitely would’ve been on the Supreme Court by now it’s so funny how biden and the dems are using her for show .But u know what good for judge Jackson she deserves it. I hate politicians, both parties are so fake but the dems I think are the worst. Do some research before u throw these people a hero parade that’s all I’m saying

  26. the problem was black people was specifically preferred in this case. Not saying in general there is a problem but I can see why some folks won’t sit right with this fact.

  27. Historically, I’m white maybe only half the time.

  28. I hate it here.

  29. It’s not a white man being confirmed to the SCOTUS? Must be evil. /s

  38. Bruh Americans really need to stop with these acronyms that end in “OTUS”. First of all, the “of” and “the” shouldn’t be written so it should just be SCUS, and also I don’t fucking know what the first two letters mean most of the time. Would it really be that hard to say “supreme court”?
