I am a big fan of intricate designs and flowing gowns. A lot of dresses in history have been inspired by myths and legends; Dior, Chanel, Versace especially… it’s full of it. It is even more common with the inclusion of jewelry.
In chinese folklore, it exists a mythical creature able to practice metamorphosis. It is rumored to bath in mirrors of water; the item that allows her to transform is a dress made of swan feathers and gold embroidery.
The gown is inspired by the legend, I wanted to re-imagine the scenery and make the garment one and only with the lake, as if she’s weaving the seams in between the streams of water.

That aside, I love the way the hair and gown flow perpendicular to the wisps if light in the other corner, really let’s your eyes follow around and everything sort of frames her face and gown, (which is gorgeous btw)
