+2570 – Old planted tank is beginning to look a bit neglected, any suggestions for how to spruce it up?

Sunflowers would add some nice color
It’s an unheated, fresh-water, approximately 48,000L
Nah I say let it grow. I like when tanks get overgrown and untrimmed. Looks so natural!
Driftwood?? Always helps me!
More rock work around the base

Oxy Clean stain remover 🙂 it works on all my old tanks 😀
Fun fact, they were called “water carriers,” “water tanks,” and eventually just “tanks” as a code word to disguise their true purpose during development.
Have you considered adding CO2
Maybe add a Betta but just one
You’ve already got a lot of iron and decent light so u suggest adding red plants like rotala and alternanthera to really take advantage of your situation
Shrimps would do the trick, and a few snails
Need bigger for a beta

Not sure if these will grow with iron content that high, but it’s worth a try.
What substrate do you plan to use?
Probably some good ferts in the surrounding ecosystem to help bring it back to life, just avoid the land mines.
I love the responses 😀
A javelin might open it up a bit
It needs a tractor.
Literally a planted tank 😂
More bladder snails. They’ll fix it.
Paint a school of cardinal tetra on it.
How about adding a spruce?
add more pixels
With some red wood
Nah, it looks perfecty fine according to one former superpower’s standards.
Would love to know how some of thse tanks ended up here. Sure seeing a Sherman on a beach kinda makes sense given how many were around in the Pacific during WW2, but who the hell leaves Chieftains lying around in the middle of a forest, Walker Bulldogs in the middle of (stunningly beautiful) fields, or M2A2s on a bloody mountain?
If you just want to start completely fresh, I hear people are just leaving their tanks lying around. Not a lot of new models though.
I think it’s spruced up enough.
It’s probably pining for the fijords…
Do a squirt o fert
Use some Russians
Blood spatter
Too soon imo
Edit: jeeze guys
Is this the “best equipment” we’ve been promised for a month now?
Trim the tops and replant those. Add 1 or 2 nerite snails
A little good of TLC can do wonders, and clear up some Blemishes after a while
Some flower boxes on the sides would definitely help
Add shrimp!
Have you considered changing out the soil? Sometimes there are gases that are trapped under it, and the best way to release them is to poke some holes in them.
Usually an uber stick helps.
Do a 50% water change
Maybe a few shrimp
Is that an E2 or an E8?
personally i like what you have goin here. your tank looks so natural and in some ways it tells of story
Cover it with moss.
It’s perfect as it is.
CO2 and ferts, obviously. Way too much light for the amount of nutrients.
A water change and some trimming will do the trick
Ask a Ukrainian farmer.
