1. Take you to el sobador who practices out of his garage and has 30-year-old certificates on the wall.

  2. It depends. If you were injured for doing “something your weren’t suppose to be doing” then you get an ass whoopin first.

  3. Lol nothing a little “sana sana colita de rana” and Vick’s vaporub can’t help.

I still remember suggesting to my college boyfriend that he try the free diabetes testing on campus, because he was constantly dehydrated and thirsty all the time. His mom told him that the best way to test for diabetes was to pee in a cup and leave it outside. If there were no ants on it the next day, he didn’t have diabetes. He went with the ant test over the free testing at the student health center 🙄

  4. I had pneumonia and my mom was sure “que me dio aire”… actually mom, quite the opposite. I couldn’t breathe!

My parents took good and proper medical care of me, but yes some home remedies snuck in there a few times. I don’t think my friends had to endure a warm clove of garlic getting stuck in their ear when it was hurting in the middle of the night. lol

  12. Oh ok. I thought it was just me who had to wait from Thanksgiving to Christmas to see if the pomada didn’t work on my fractured wrist.

  13. And when all of those remedies fail, shit gets really bad then take them to the doctor and when it gets worse blame the doctor, instead of your pendejo-ass for waiting too long…ya ves, esos pinches doctores no saben nada.

And “proper medical facility” might mean the homeopathic doctor.

  23. True! My uncle used pork fat to heal cuts…

  24. My dad fell real high from a tree branch and this man really wanted a sobadora. The lady came and she saw his injury. So she’s like deuces I’m out. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I got ran over as child and still wasnt taken to a hospital. I was ~8 and my family let me watch Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot and gave me a popsicle as a treat… Trust me, Haitians are the same

  26. Yes, they call first the curandera, the huesero, gives you a prescripted medicine (this is super absurd, but a lot of people keep doing this) because it worked on them… Before its too late for the proper medical attention and then blame science for it, haha.
